"Matooke" the local banana staple being prepared the traditional way. The bananas after being peeled are wrapped in banana leaves, steamed and later mashed through pressing them within this wrapping.
This way of steaming gives them a fine aroma and taste bananas steamed another way dont have.

Pilau or pilao as it is called in Uganda is a very tasty rice/meat dish. There are many variations of it in different parts of the world, especially Asia. Other names for it include: Pilaf, also called poloپلو , polao, pilau, pilav, pilaff, plov or pulao.
